ADHESIVE “ANTI DUST” TAPES FOR SEALING CELLULAR POLYCARBONATE

AntiDust cellular polycarbonate tapes AntiDUST® Breath Sealing Tape is uniquely designed to seal the cavities of the honeycomb sheets used in cellular polycarbonate.

Specifically, AntiDUST® tapes offer comprehensive protection against the most common problems that often occur in roofing systems, such as algae and fungal growth, condensation, dust and insect contamination, etc., which cause polycarbonate sheets to become dirty in a matter of months.
We have standardised solutions as well as special sizes adapted to any type of plate.

APPLICATION OF ANTI-DUST TAPES FOR CELLULAR POLYCARBONATE

We must take into account something very important when using ANTIDUST® anti-dampness and anti-dust tapes: This is the correct way to apply them. We must stick the blind antidust tape G 3600 on the upper side and the breathable micro-perforated tape AD3400 on the lower side.

In these simple diagrams we can see how to install the anti-dust adhesive tapes.

It is recommended to seal with “alubutyl” butyl tape * on the metal profiles to prevent water penetration and future stagnation. (angle placement charts)

Aluminium tape or polyester tape for cellular polycarbonate sealing?

The main disadvantage of the aluminium substrate in this application is that, being a rigid product, it cannot adapt to the different expansion changes that occur in polycarbonate.

Therefore, another disadvantage that we can find is that it is a fragile product that sometimes breaks under the pressure of the aluminium profiles themselves.

All these problems are avoided by using the micro-perforated fabric adhesive tape G3600.

In a nutshell:

After cutting the polycarbonate part to size, it should be thoroughly cleaned of dust and shavings.
Clean dirt or grease residues with industrial cleaner Q60040 and if there is adhesive residue with adhesive cleaner Q60042.
Apply G3600 tape on top and AD 3400 tape on the bottom.
Fitting the protective side rail
Seal the sides of the profiles where the water flows.
