The new UN\/ECE Regulation 48 defines the voluntary or compulsory marking with reflective adhesive materials on the rear and sides of different types of vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>This new regulation makes it compulsory to mark the contour of motor vehicles with at least four wheels intended for the transport of goods, whose maximum authorised weight exceeds 7.5 tonnes and whose width is 2.1 metres or more.<\/p>\n<p>It shall be voluntary for all other motor vehicles used for the carriage of goods, vans and buses.
